Independent expert opinion.
I prepare independent, evidence-based life expectancy reports where a person's likely remaining lifespan is relevant to a legal, financial or Court of Protection decision.
My work spans statutory will applications, deputyship planning, contested probate, personal injury, clinical negligence and complex litigation, often involving vulnerable adults with significant medical, functional or care related needs.
I hold a Master of Science in Forensic Anthropology and a Bachelor of Science in Forensic Science.
That background gives a structured, analytical foundation for reviewing complex evidence, interpreting mortality factors and preparing clear expert reports.
My role is not to predict the exact date or age at which a person will die. It is to give a reasoned, evidence-based opinion on likely remaining life expectancy, with the evidence, assumptions, limitations and uncertainty set out plainly.
Methodology and independence
Every report begins with a structured review of the evidence: medical and care records, functional information, population life expectancy data and relevant published literature, applied carefully to the facts of the individual case.
I start from a population life expectancy baseline, then weigh whether the individual evidence supports moving away from it, considering diagnosis, co-morbidity, frailty, mobility, nutrition, swallowing, infection history, cognition, care dependency and any stabilising factors. Where the evidence supports it, I give a reasoned life expectancy range, with the assumptions and limitations made explicit.
My opinions are independent and balanced, never shaped to the instructing party's preferred outcome. Where a report is prepared for court, my overriding duty is to the court, with regard to CPR Part 35 where it applies.

Nellie Supports
I prepare life expectancy reports through Nellie Supports Ltd, where I am also Director of Operations. The practice provides the administrative, professional and governance infrastructure for instructions, from enquiry handling and secure document management to case administration and invoicing.
I remain responsible for the expert analysis, opinion and final report content in every matter. This lets me give individually reasoned expert evidence while working within an established specialist practice built for court related reporting and complex case administration.
